Acne home remedy advice is everywhere you look, but not all of the treatments and products you hear about are effective.  With all the options available on the market it’s difficult to decide what is best for your skin.  Here are a few tips that you can use to treat your acne without purchasing expensive products.

The best acne home remedy in my opinion is to make sure you wash your face at least twice per day with an oil-free cleanser.   To increase the acne fighting benefits of this routine, use a product that has benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

Drinking at least eight 8 ounce glasses of water each day will keep your skin hydrated and looking healthy.  This is a great way to clear your skin and help your body function at optimal levels.

When it comes to getting rid of pimples, hold ice to the area.  At first, the area will appear redder because of the coldness on the skin; however, it will then appear smaller.  This is great for a quick fix when you need a pimple to be smaller in a shorter amount of time, and can be used instead of putting a product on overnight.

A drop of tea oil can also help a pimple so it heals faster.   Place a drop of tea oil to the pimple before going to bed at night and the pimple should be smaller, if not gone, by the next morning.

Another at home spot treatment is toothpaste.  Make sure it’s a paste and not a gel.  Apply the toothpaste to your pimple before going to bed and you should see similar results as the tea oil.  Apply a small amount because this tends to over dry the skin more so than the tea oil.

Baking soda mixed with a small amount of water can also be used to treat acne.  Apply this to troubled areas before going to bed continuously every night.   You should start to see the problems disappear within a few weeks or sooner.

These are just a few ways to help treat your acne at home.  Finding an acne home remedy that works for you will take a bit of trial and error, but the good news is it’s a cheap and convenient way of controlling and eliminating your acne.
