An acne diet is one way of avoiding future breakouts. Eating the right foods may also help you cure the acne you already have and your body will feel better overall because of the optimal nutrition you are receiving.
The first thing you have to do is remove foods that are high in sugar and fat from your acne diet. Fried chicken, potato chips, chocolate, fries, and donuts are all examples of foods that should be avoided. You will also want to avoid fast food restaurants because they usually have unhealthy choices on their menus.
You want to get at least eight 8 ounce glasses of water each day to ensure that your skin stays hydrated. You’ll also want to drink at least two glasses of skim or 1 percent milk.
Protein is an important part of your acne diet, so make sure you are getting at least 3 services of protein each day. This protein should come from low fat choices such as chicken breast, turkey, egg whites, and peanut butter. Also, look for proteins full of zinc. Some zinc filled proteins are oysters, beef shanks, and baked beans.
Your diet should be filled with a variety of fruits (minimum three servings) and vegetables (minimum four servings). While fighting acne, you will want fruits and vegetables full of vitamin A. For vitamin A, you could choose peaches, watermelon, carrots, and broccoli.
There seems to be a stigma that almonds cause acne, but it’s actually opposite. Make it a habit to choose almonds for a snack. There are fruit and nut snack bars that contain almonds and these are convenient.
If you follow these acne diet tips, you will start seeing results in your overall complexion and notice that you’re having fewer breakouts. In addition, these tips are good for your overall health, so you should begin to feel better about your body.
